There’s nothing intimidating about making Aalu Paratha. It’s a simple basic recipe which you can easily make it in breakfast. All you need to add mashed potatoes, wheat and some water together to make a nice smooth dough. then rolled the dough balls into whatever shape you desire. Cook it on the skillet and you’re done!

Here I show you how to make Aalu Paratha in a very simple way!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Medium-sized potatoes
  • 150 gm Wheat flour
  • 1 Green chilli (Chopped)
  • 1 inch Grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp Coriander (Chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Ajwain
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes
  • Salt as required
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

STEPS TO MAKE AN AALU PARATHA

STEP 1

Boil and grate 3 medium-sized (250 gm) potatoes.

STEP 2

Add 150 gm wheat flour, 1 chopped green chilli, 1-inch grated ginger, 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp Ajwain, 1/4 tsp black pepper powder, 1/2 tsp chilli flakes, salt as required and 1 tbsp vegetable oil. Mix well and knead into a dough.

STEP 3

Again, add 1 tbsp vegetable oil and knead lightly. Let the dough rest for 10 mins.

 STEP 4

Take a small piece of dough and roll it into a ball (make sure apply oil on your palm before rolling) then flatten it. Now, dip the prepared dough ball into the dry wheat flour and dust it from all sides.

STEP 5

Afterwards, roll the ball into circular motion until you have a circle with the help of a rolling pin.

STEP 6

Now, apply some oil and fold the Paratha into half.

STEP 7

Apply oil and fold again. Dip the Paratha into some dry flour and start rolling again. Now, roll out the triangle on each side and you’re done!

STEP 8

Put a Tawa or skillet on low flame and grease some ghee on it. Once the Tawa get hot enough, place the Paratha on it and cook until both the sides start to appear light brown.

STEP 9

Repeat the process for remaining dough balls likewise.

STEP 10

Serve Aalu Paratha hot along with chutneys or yogurt.
