Potato Garlic Rings
- 2 Medium-sized potatos
- 75 gm Semolina/suji
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 6-8 Garlic
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
- Salt as required
- 2 tbsp Cornflour
- 2 tbsp Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
- Oil for frying
STEPS TO MAKE POTATO GARLIC RINGS
Boil and mash 2 medium-sized potatoes and keep aside. Blend 75 gm Semolina/suji in a blender.
Heat 1 tbsp butter or oil in a pan over medium heat. Tilt the pan so that the butter gets coated in the bottom of the pan and add quicky 6-8 grated garlic before the butter melts. Sauté well.
Afterwards, add suji/semolina and mix on low flame, then pour 1/2 cup water and cook till all the water is absorbed and the mixture starts to turn into a dough kinda texture.
Now, add 1/2 tsp chilli flakes, 1/4 tsp black pepper powder, salt as required. mix well. Furthermore, add mashed potato in it (remember guys, the flame should be at low) and mix till the potatoes are cooked.
Transfer the mixture into a plate. Add 2 tbsp cornflour and 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves. Roll out and cut the dough into balls.
Now, roll the ball into circular motion until you have a circle with the help of a rolling pin.
For shaping the mixture into rings, cut out a circle by using a medium-sized circle cutter (I’m using a small glass) and again cut out another circle from it by using a small-sized circle cutter (I’m using a bottle cap here). Repeat the same process with the rest of the dough.
Pour the vegetable oil to heavy bottom non-stick and when the oil turns hot, gently drop one by one into the oil, After a min, flip them one by one and turn the flame to medium. Fry them until they turn light golden.
Take them out and drain the oil. Place them on napkin or paper towel in a plate to absorb excess oil. Repeat the process for remaining dough balls likewise.
Serve them hot along with sauce and mayonnaise in the evening and enjoy!
