If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you may have known by now, desserts have always been on the top of my recipe list. What can I say? I adore dessert or sweet recipes very much, especially this Instant Sweet Appam Recipe.
An appam recipe, but make it SWEET?! This real dessert recipe is easy to make and only requires 5 simple ingredients, 1 blender and 15 mins. Literally SO good!
This dessert is a whole mood and I hope you like them as much as I do!!
Instant Sweet Appam
- 80 gm Semolina/suji
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Desiccated coconut
- 80 gm Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Green cardamom powder
- 200 ml Milk
- Oil for frying
HOW TO MAKE AN INSTANT SWEET APPAM
Blend 80 gm Semolina/suji in a blender. Now, heat 1 tsp ghee in a kadhai. Add suji in it and roast at low to medium heat. Afterwards, add 2 tbsp desiccated coconut, 80 gm sugar, 1/4 tsp green cardamom powder and mix everything on low flame.
Furthermore, pour 200 ml milk and cook till all the milk is absorbed and the mixture starts to turn into a dough kinda texture. Turn off the flame and transfer the dough onto a plate. Let the dough rest for 5 mins.
Now, add 2-3 tsp ghee and knead the dough lightly and make round shaped balls from it and flatten slightly. Pour the oil into kadhai, when the oil turns hot, check whether the oil is sufficiently hot or not by dropping a pinch of the mixture in hot oil. Then, turn the flame in between low to medium. gently drop one by one into the oil. After a min, flip them one by one. Deep fry them until they turn brown.
Take them out using a spoon and drain the oil. Place them on napkin or paper towel in a plate to absorb excess oil.
Our Instant Sweet Appam are ready to be served.!
